Early Season Striper Fishing at the West End of the Cape Cod Canal

We launched at Taylor’s Point this morning
in search of some migratory striped bass. We traveled out and it was instant birds and
stripers on top. Tons of birds as far as the eye could see. It was just action all morning. 6 to 9. Non stop. They were feeding on some small baits. We had our fill by lunchtime. There’s tons of little fish but we’re seeing
a lot of bigger ones mixed in. It’s only getting better every single day
this week. Last year May 16th was the day of the 65-pounder. It’s only going to get better and better from
here on out. We’re hooked up again. Steph’s got the lucky rod. That’s the one that landed the 65-pounder. There’s definitely some keepers mixed in. Couple borderlines. This one is real close. Got a lot of sea lice on him. We’re gonna let him go to live another day. Springtime bass here is lights out. Catching a bunch of these fish about this
size. But we’re gonna let him go and pick up some
more.
