Go Sam! Today Sam Callaway, one of
our fishermen for 16 years, had a wish of a lifetime come true. He caught ShareLunker #500
and congratulations to Sam. As we can all know this year, Lake
O.H. Ivie has been kickin’ them out. I never felt the bite. We were
drifting, the wind was blowing, I felt like I hung up in a bush. And for some reason, I don’t know
why today, but I set the hook. and still thought I was hung up
in a bush because it just was solid, it never did even budge any. And finally, after a few seconds it started
moving a little bit. I said, ‘oh, this is a fish.’ And there wasn’t much reeling. I
mean all you could do was just hold on. This fish just wanted to stay
down there. But she came out of the bush and the rest, thank God I had a
good netter in the boat. He netted it for me. Got her in the boat.
It didn’t take long. She gave up once I got her
to the top of the water. At first it was just a big fish.
Yeah, I was proud of it. But now I realize how big
a lunker can be and it’s once a lifetime probably
so I’m excited.
